ACACIA MANGIUM

Fast growing and agro forestry plant and very good wind-breaker and good to upgrade ground in fallow land.

ACACIA NILOTICA

A scented thorn species of accacia that is usually small in size but may reach up to 10 m in height. Pods are 8 to 17 cms long with green and fleshy when young and becoming dark(drying black) when mature. When seeds become mature, it is said that villagers make ink from the pods and at maturing stage they develop a fruity scent. The Zulus take a decoction of the bark for coughs and the trees exude excellent quality of gum.

ADANSONIA DIGITATA: (baobab)

The world`s widest tree with short and grotesquely fat trunk that can store more than 20,000 gallon of water. Adansonia digitata is a deciduous tree with leaflets resemble finger, a fat tree due to its short thick, grey trunck, may be the widest trunck in the world up to 30 feet in diameter. It has a few thin branches spread from the top of the trunck with egg-shaped fruit with a green velvet coating over a woody-thick shell. Fruits are white and pulpy

A tree that looks up-side-down and typical from Madagascar with branches and leaves resembles the roots pointed towards the sky. Bark reddish.
